Art Nouveau is a style thrived around 1880—1914. Inspired by natural elements and classical style, Art Nouveau is not only an art form which has work mainly limited on paint plane, but also derives people elegant artworks in all other dimensions, such as jewelry, interior design, and even architecture.
I am always enchanted to Art Nouveau works. In them, one can never stop astonished by the wonderful arrangement of negative space and the flowing tangled curves. Thus in this self study project, I decide to try if mel script can be used to create Art Nouveau style plants.

Plants in Art Nouveau style usually have elongated steam and leaves. They are usually used to frame the main theme on the picture plane, or as decorations.
However, since Maya is a 3-D software, what I want to achieve in this project is not a flat pattern-like plant, but one can be viewed in all perspective. Thus, how to create an interesting shape but still keep proper tension between positive and negative spaces become the crucial task.
