Besides the photos I got from an online texture gallery 3D.sk, the reference photos are mostly of my relatives.

But here I would like to talk about the two photos of a grandmother wearing purple clothe. The two photos are actually from a stranger I've never met. I happened to see these photos on flipbook when trying to find good reference. When I saw them, I immediately knew that she has the same quality that the granny has.

After few minutes' hesitation, I decided to write an e-mail to the owner of the photos. This is probably the boldest thing I have ever done in internet. But I luckily got friendly respond after few days. Thanks for her, the kindness grand daugther of this friendly looking grandmother, now I am able to have very concrete reference of the entire feeling and the sking texture.

Here, concerning their will and also the copyright, I only leave photo panelsof smaller scale or partial photos for all of the head reference photos I have.

Again, here I would like to thank all friends and relatives who help me collecting these precious materials.

One interesting thing I discovered through the reference collecting process is how middle aged people look like actually very person by person more.

You can never say that people in 40s "should" have eye bags, wrinkles around their mouths or smile lines on their fore head. Compare to age, it relates much more to the person's life style or even the financial condition. (don't forget the magical plastic surgery, ha!)

That's why I finally decide to make the younger granny much younger than I planned in the very beginning.

Asian people has very dark eyes color, but to collect reference photos of western people makes me easier to feigure out the structure of iris. Based on the same reason, I made Granny's eyes brown in stead of black. For me, she becauses more attractive with shiny brown eyes.
