Master Thesis: My (black) American Life
My work takes a closer, in-depth look at being a minority in America by showing raw, uninhibited portraits. My audience get a chance to be up close and personal with strangers in order to confront their views of minorities. Historically, African-Americans have been studied through the photo-document and photojournalism. We are not animals or test subjects to study. My photographs reflect my life because of the people I've chosen to shoot. My world consists of a diverse cast of characters, friends and family members that range from ex-cons to preachers and dancers to teachers. African-Americans have progressed; I want to present new images that go beyond erstwhile stereotypes and into what now reflects the 21st century black Diaspora.

Photodocument
These photographs are images that I've taken over the years as a photojournalist. Each one is special as they all have their own individual story. I prefer to shoot in this style to be a fly on the wall and catch the experiences you haveas you grow. I've worked enough photo gigs to where I have my own style that is a direct influence to my artwork. These photos were taken between Summer 2006 - Spring 2009.

Portraits
As a photographer, I do enjoy breaking out the big lights and shooting someone's portrait. As a student, I'm taking time to understand light since it is a very important factor in photography and portraiture. It can be challenging to shoot a studio portrait versus an environmental portrait. Here is a collection of images that represent my portraiture style. I still have that documentary influence but I am working to become better at navigating studio lighting issues. If you are interested in my services for a photo shoot, please write me an email.

Atlanta Indie Music Festival 2009
Every year, there are new trends, sounds and movements. This year with the help of Corey Davis, The Bench and Asahi Beer, the Atlanta Indie Music Festival was quite successful and filled with many photographic opportunities. As I shot, there were no problems between people. Everyone just danced to the local music until the sun was deep in bed. What I learned is that as youth we're constantly on the search for individuality as backlash to what is understand as mainstream. For those that live outside the box like me, this side project is for you.
