The Dancers are a specially trained land-based military fighting force of Palinor. The name "Dancer" comes from the description of a fighting style emphasizing fluidity and grace taught to all Dancers. All Dancers train at an institution named the Dancer’s Academy, which is both a training facility and a school. As Dancers gain ranks in battle they also gain responsibility to the academy to instruct those less experienced. Because of their society and traditions only Humans, Barbarians, and Gypsies are permitted to become cadets and train at the Dancer Academy. However, other races who find themselves fighting with the Dancers can sometimes earn the title “Honorary Dancer”, which means that, if it were not for their race, they could be a Dancer. A Dancer’s uniform consists of red clothing and some amount of armor, and a set of beads worn in the hair behind the left ear. The different beads denote the rank of the Dancer.
As part of their code, training, and pride they don’t like to back down from a battle or try to avoid one, as the glory of battle is what a Dancer lives for. Celestial magic is strictly prohibited, and any Dancer caught throwing it, whether from an item or from memory, will be kicked out of the Academy.

Dancer’s Code:
I am a Dancer, I live for the fight.
I fight for my king, my country, and my family.
I fight for loyalty, honor, and strength.
I will fight for what I believe in.
I will give my all to defend those close to me.
I will remember my ancestors and what they fought for.

I must never yield.
I am a Dancer, I live for the fight.
