The Dancers come from Palinor. Palinor is a city in the far Northeast section of Evendarr. It is a thring city, capitalizing on trade overseas. Its citizenry comprise of three main races: Gypsies, Humans, and Barbarians. Over the years the three races have formed a melting pot society and it is common for most inhabitants to have ancestors of all three races. Palinor has since expanded its population to encompass other peoples, although there are very few Elves, due to a war with them in the distant past. It is a walled city, with a thriving harbor, vineyards, apple orchards, and a marble rock quarry outside of the city. The port is the source of most of Palinor’s income, and many sailors call Palinor their home.

Most notable about Palinor is its distrust of magic, perhaps stemming from the Barbarian populace. Because of this, celestial magic is outlawed as is regarded as unnecessary, dangerous, and untrustworthy. However, some visiting citizens of other lands are allowed writs to cast celestial within the city. These exceptions are watched very carefully by the Dancers and the Order, whom are in charge of law enforcement. The Dancers were originally created to serve Palinor, and the main Dancer Academy is located there.

One of the prevalent symbols that can be found within Palinor is that of the dual sun, a large stylized sun with a smaller blue sun within it. This symbol represents the legend of the two suns which existed during the creation of Tyrra. It is believed that the twin suns are the origin of life and magic—the large sun provided life to Tyrra and remained steadfast and strong. The small blue sun was the source of star magic, and when it failed and disappeared, the magic failed as well. (This is why many people think star magic is unreliable). It is explained that celestial magic still exists because the energy of the blue sun dispersed itself into other sources. [Oog—although many citizens believe this, it is utter nonsense. This myth is unheard of in the rest of Tyrra. The origins of this myth are unknown, but it possibly could have begun with a Gypsy tale mistaken for fact].

The noble color of Palinor is purple, which is used in banners and formal noble attire. The other symbol of Palinor is the Celtic hound, which represents loyalty and stability. This is the symbol of the current Leader of Palinor, Robin of Akalin.
